    The article Jose posted was written for an anthropology magazine in January 2002. At the time I was keen on promoting community currencies and working closely with Michael Linton who invented LETS in the early 1980s.

    On June 19th in The Hague, I gave a keynote address for the Second International Complementary Currencies conference at The Hague, “Money in the making of a human economy: beyond national capitalism” which was far less bullish on CCs. It represents a sort of synthesis of my latest thinking on these questions.
