SASE Best Books

Dear SASE community, we are delighted to announce the 2021 Alice Amsden Best Book Award winner, Sorting Out the Mixed Economy: The Rise and Fall of Welfare and Developmental States in the Americas by historian Amy Offner.
The award committee members have also awarded an honorable mention to Neoliberal Resilience: Lessons in Democracy and Development from Latin America and Eastern Europe by Aldo Madariaga.  Congratulations to Professors Offner and Madariaga, and huge thanks to the Alice Amsden Best Book Award committee members Leslie McCall (chair), Matthew Amengual, Margarita Estevez-Abe, and Gernot Grabher for their efforts!
